Making Pasta from Scratch
Making Pasta
As a finale to our cultural studies during collaborative with the PrePrimary class, we made pasta from scratch.
It was a fun process. We got to make and eat. YUMMY!!!!!!!
Our First Excursion
Our First Excursion
On the 12th of May our class went on an excursion to Swan’s Vet Clinic in Esperance. We listened to Mrs Swan tell us about the various rooms and what happens in each of them. We looked at a lot of different equipment that is used to help and care for animals that come into the clinic.
It was a great opportunity to learn about what is in our community and what jobs people do. Thank you to Mrs Swan for sharing her knowledge with us and to everyone at the vet clinic who made us feel welcome.
Buddy Time
Working With Our Buddies
During one of our collaborative sessions with the Pre-Primary recently, the Year 4 children along with their teacher, Miss Phoebe, to help us with an activity.
This activity involved representing the four seasons through an art medium. Everyone had a fun co-operative session which we would love to repeat again.
THANK YOU YEAR 4!!!
Science in Kindy – Water and Rain
Drippy the Raincloud
In Kindergarten we tried to show how clouds rain, by doing an experiment.
We used a medicine dropper (syringe), a clear cup, shaving cream and blue dye.
We put water in the cup first and then we put shaving cream on the top of the cup. (The shaving cream was the cloud because we can’t bring a cloud inside).
Then we put the blue dyed water in the cloud using the syringe. The cloud dropped the blue water because it was full.
That’s what happens when it rains.
Our Special Visitor
Guess Who Came to Visit Today!!!
Today we had a surprise visit from Easter Bunny. He was funny and tried to trick us when he gave us our Easter baskets.
Thank you Easter Bunny. We’ll try not to eat too many eggs this Easter!!!!
All About Me
Developing a Sense of Self
The Kindergarten children have been involved in our Religious Education theme ‘I Am Me’, during the early part of this term. The Early Years Learning Framework fosters the belief that children need to develop knowledgeable and confident self identities. Part of this building of knowledge about self, involves identifying and acknowledging who they are, their personal abilities and what is special about them. They sense and respond to a feeling of belonging. An understanding of self is relevant to their learning to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.
Following the reading of the book ‘Whoever You Are’ written by Mem Fox and illustrated by Leslie Staub, the children created themselves using easily attained materials. They assessed who they are, what is remarkable about their physical appearance, what they can do and why they are special. We then displayed their special ‘self’ on our class tree. They all look SUPER SPECIAL!!
